This post has been a long time in coming. In a season where the men's team has struggled, the women's team has been absolutely phenomenal. Congratulations to the women's basketball team for going 13-1 in conference and sharing the regular season title with Lehigh!
The team has been fantastic all year, and their only league loss came to Lehigh (also 13-1).
Michelle Kirk should be the runaway player of the year in the Patriot League as she has had the ability to absolutely take over games. She's the leading scorer in the PL and is also averaging 5 rebounds a game.
Liz Leer is the PL's leader in blocks (as well as the all-time leader in blocks at AU) and along with Ohemaa Nyanin is a force down low for the Eagles.
Raven Harris is one of the best guards in the league and has almost a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio.
I'll keep you all posted on their postseason progress, but they deserve a lot of credit for the season they've had. Great work!
