Open Letter to Snowbound AU Students

Dear Snowbound AU Students,



Hi there. Hope this finds you well. I'm sure you're all going through your standard "hoping for a snow day" rituals. Wearing backward and inside-out hats, boxers, or t-shirts, eating pickle and peanut butter sandwiches, putting off papers, or playing lots of Call of Duty. I won't take up a lot of your time; I miss those rituals myself. I guess you've all heard by now that there's a snowmageddon, snOMGasm, SNOMG, or insert other name for the freaking blizzard that's coming tomorrow into Saturday. It's going to be a mess. Despite what on-campus authorities have said, let's be honest, TDR is going to be a little nuts (and not tasty). The Tavern will be closed. Boli's and Domino's will be delayed. People are going to be pissed. But you know what, you will always remember where you were this weekend because this is going to be one of the largest snowstorms DC has ever seen. You know what would make this weekend even more memorable? If you can say that you took an hour or two out of your time to cheer on your AU Eagles. To be able to say that you went, on a day where you could barely get out the front door of your dorm, down to Bender Arena, to watch a team that struggled for most of the season take on the Lehigh Hill Pigeons, a team that has been pretty good all season and sits in first. To be able to say that you went down, in your boots, freezing cold, with your roommates and floormates, and screamed your lungs out in support of your AU Eagles as they tried to go for 1st place. To be able to say, yes I went to AU, and I WAS HOME COURT ADVANTAGE for one snowy afternoon. In a four year span full of great memories, don't you want to make another one? If it comes down to eating ramen and watching marathons of Law and Order or going to the game, then by Clawed Z. Eagle get down to Bender. Get down to Bender. BE THERE. BE LOUD. BE BLUE. BE AU!

AND AFTER WE DESTROY THE HILL PIGEONS WE'LL ALL GO DOWN TO Z-BURGER FOR $1 BURGERS! (if 12" have fallen by then, blah blah blah)

And if this letter wasn't good enough for you. Then watch this video, and every time he says "Scotland" think "American University" and every time he says "English" think "Lehigh" and every time he says "Freedom" or "Victory" think "DESTROYING OUR OPPONENT ON THE BASKETBALL COURT!"
