Assistant Coach Robert Burke Leaves AU, Becomes Head Coach at Mt. St. Mary's

Thanks to contributor Lisa for sending this our way this morning.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting
that Robert Burke will leave AU after one year as an assistant coach to become the head coach at Mt. St. Mary's. The MSM job opened up after coach Milan Brown became the coach at Holy Cross last month.

Not sure if this means anything really for us, aside that Burke was purported to be a pretty good recruiter. Odds are we'll see them in a non-conference game this upcoming season.

Other thoughts?

We'll keep you posted if we hear about his replacement at AU.

Pro deo et patria and GO EAGLES!

  1. While I knew that we were only a pit stop on his way to a head coaching job, in the back of my mind I was hoping he'd stick around a little while. Oh well, I don't think anyone is too upset. I'm just happy he didn't go to HC. Very curious to see who his replacement might be.

  2. Does anyone know the reason Burke was fired by Georgetown?

  3. Coach Burke is an excellent coach and this is surely a loss for AU. Will be tough to find a coach as liked, respected, and talented as Coach Burke.
