Hoop Time Analyzes the Eagles

Hoop Time Online is a tremendous resource for Patriot League basketball. We're working on previews of all 8 Patriot League teams for you, as well as analysis of the Eagles' non-conference schedule. In the meantime, check out this preview from Hoop Time that analyzes our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Overall I think this is a very fair analysis. HT cites Vlad and Lumpkins as our main strengths and the point guard position and our bench as potential weaknesses. That's fair. We'll flesh out our thoughts here over the coming weeks!

What do you think of his preview?

Pro deo et patria and GO EAGLES!

  1. I'm excited that Hoop Time is back for the season - they truly care about the Patriot League, and it shows. The major outlet's pitiful attempts at PL coverage (and really, I don't blame them, their resources are better allocated elsewhere) just doesn't compare.

  3. good defense & point production from the backcourt- and our opponents need to respect the 3 point shot from someone other than Vlad- will be critical to AU's success. Adding 2 junior transfers to last year's team should make us much better than 7-7. Hoop Times lack of info about them and Wayne Simon naturally causes them to underrate us. Word has it that the freshman big kid from CA might be real find- he can play.

  4. By big kid from CA do you mean Tony Wroblicky (spelling) or is that a typo and you meant IL for Wayne Simon?

  5. Big kid from CA is definitely Tony. Haven't seen him play, but have seen him around campus - and he's pretty big. If he has the skill to back up his size, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Patriot League
